The Children's Hematology/Oncology Team at Covenant Children's provides high-quality, family and patient-centered care to children and teenagers with cancer and blood disorders from West Texas to Eastern New Mexico. We also provide access to leading-edge therapy and research through the collaboration of the Children' Oncology Group, the world's largest cancer research team.

The Children's Hematology and Oncology Team is made up of a certified pediatric oncologist, dedicated certified pediatric oncology nursing staff, certified clinical research associate and other services such as child life, social work, marriage family therapy and financial counselor.

Children and adolescents who need treatment for cancer or blood related disorders have an experienced and knowledgeable team ready to help, with the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team, where surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation therapists and other cancer specialists work together under one roof for truly multidisciplinary cancer treatment.

Our in-house services also offer top rated care to our pediatric hematology and oncology patients. A dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department. Access to a state of the art Pediatric Intensive Care unit that is staffed with a pediatric intensivist twenty four hours a day. This unit is equipped to handle oncologic emergencies, and also to provide sedation to our patients while undergoing diagnostic procedures. Our patients are cared for by PALS certified and chemotherapy certified nursing staff.

The inpatient pediatric floor is a 38-bed unit that provides comprehensive care which includes an on-site pharmacy, child life services, and case management services. The nursing staff is also PALS certified and chemotherapy certified to provide optimal care to all patients.

Patients have access to state of the art diagnostic services including, MRI, Spect MRI, and a PET/CT scanner. All pediatric specialties are available for consultation and treatment.

Families have access to an in-house Ronald McDonald room for parents who are not able to leave the hospital due to the condition of an ill child.
