Dr. Laszlo Nagy Awarded the Covenant Health Endowed Chair with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine

(LUBBOCK) – The recipient of the Covenant Health Robert Moore, M.D., Endowed Chair in Pediatrics is Dr. Laszlo Nagy. The endowed chair signifies the commitment to an ongoing partnership between Covenant Health and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine to provide more local opportunities for medical research and education.

The endowed chair in pediatrics was named in memory of Dr. Robert Moore, a board-certified pediatrician who passed away in 2001. During his career, Dr. Moore developed and chaired the first department of pediatrics at TTUHSC. He was also instrumental in opening the first neonatal nursery between Dallas and Denver.

Dr. Laszlo Nagy is a pediatric neurosurgeon with clinical expertise in hydrocephalus, tumors, craniosynostosis, development disorders and endoscopy of the brain. He began his medical practice in 2004 as an attending neurosurgeon at the Department of Neurosurgery, National Healthcare Center, Department of Neurotraumatology, Ujpest Hospital and National Institute of Neurosurgery in Budapest, Hungary.

Dr. Nagy is published and a frequent presenter on emergency and trauma procedures, Dr. Nagy is a member of the Hungarian Society of Physicians, Hungarian Society of Neurosurgeons, Hungarian Society of EEG and Neurophysiology and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Nagy completed his residency in neurology and neurosurgery in Budapest, Hungary. He is fellowship trained in pediatric neurosurgery. He completed his fellowship at the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Children's Medical Center, The University of Texas Southwestern, Dallas. He is a Certified Foreign Medical Graduate, whose practice is limited to pediatric neurosurgery.
