Covenant Children’s and Pi Beta Phi Launch ‘Angel Library’

Covenant Children's and Pi Beta Phi sorority launched 'Angel Library' this month at the hospital. They are teaming up to provide bibliotherapy to children staying at Covenant Children's. Bibliotherapy is an expressive therapy that uses an individual's relationship to the content of the book to help them cope with being hospitalized.

For nearly 100 years, Pi Beta Phi has focused their philanthropy on literacy. The way the chapter at Texas Tech is making a difference in the Lubbock community is to volunteer at Covenant Children's with Angel Library and providing bibliotherapy.

October is the first official month of Angel Library. Currently, Angel Library is a mobile library in which the volunteers deliver and read books to the children in the hospital. A permanent library located on the pediatric floor of the hospital is currently under development.
