    Physician Bio

    Dr. Higgins is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Covenant Women’s and Children’s. He is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics for Texas Tech Health Sciences Center committed to compassionate, high-quality care with an emphasis on healthy lifestyles for the entire family.

    Board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, Dr. Higgins holds licensure in the states of Texas and Ohio. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American Gastroenterology Association, and North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

    Dr. Higgins completed his residency in pediatrics at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he was chief resident of pediatrics in 1990. He completed a pediatric internship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati.
