The skilled nursing staff at our center reacts quickly in emergencies, provides compassionate guidance when needed and offers personalized care that makes the birth of each baby special. Maternity services

The Women's Care Center is proud to be a Level IV Maternal Center, the highest level of care available for mothers under state designation rules. This designation recognizes comprehensive care for pregnant and postpartum patients, from those with low-risk conditions up to and including the most complex medical, surgical and obstetrical conditions that present a high-risk of maternal morbidity or mortality. No matter what happens during your pregnancy and delivery, you can rest assured that you're receiving the best care possible at Covenant Women's Care Center.

We also offer pre-birth classes, pain management options, follow-up programs and specialized care for high-risk pregnancy to ensure that each pregnancy and delivery is as joyful and memorable as possible. Our primary goal is to constantly incorporate “best practices” among our health care team and ensuring the highest quality care is provided in the safest and most comforting environment for these precious new lives.

Gynecological services

Featuring the latest technology and luxurious surroundings, our Women's Center offers a wide array of services, ranging from outpatient diagnostics to inpatient surgeries. Conditions treated include:

  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic and vulvar pain
  • Sexually transmitted diseases
  • Symptoms of menopause
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Uterine fibroids

Covenant offers a new, minimally invasive approach to hysterectomy – da Vinci Hysterectomy. It combines the advantages of conventional open and minimally invasive hysterectomies, but with far fewer drawbacks. Ask your physician if this an option for you.

Breast care services

Breast cancer isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s personal. And your care should be, too. We customize every part of your care to you – from breast screenings to treatment plans. We offer convenience, with all the care you need in one place.

Once you find out you are pregnant, the first step is to find an obstetrician. Good prenatal care is very important to assure that you are your baby are healthy through pregnancy, delivery and beyond. When you find out you are pregnant, you are welcome to go ahead and call an obstetrician to schedule your first appointment. Often time, they may schedule for a couple of weeks down the road to ensure that your first visit is worthwhile. Covenant Prenatal Care Center

The Prenatal Care Center provides comprehensive prenatal care under certified family Nurse Practitioner. She works with the premier obstetricians of Covenant Medical Group to provide the best personalized care for you and your baby, with decreased wait times. The Clinic is conveniently located in Suite 503 in the Medical Office Building next to Covenant Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The Prenatal Care Center accepts most commercial insurance plans, Texas Medicaid, and self-funded patients. Call 806-725-7625 for more information.

Yes. This is very important. Choose a pediatrician from your insurance that has privileges at Covenant Hospital. Please call the Covenant Physician Finder Line for physician referral assistance: 806-725-6421.

We will have a doctor here 24 hours a day for any complications or labor assessment or you may call your physician.

You will be in the labor room for your delivery and at least two hours after birth. You will then be moved to a mother/baby room.

Yes. A board-dertified anesthesiologist is available 24 hours/7 days per week.

Every mom and baby will have their own private room for laboring,dDelivering and postpartum Care.

A typical stay for a vaginal delivery is two nights; a cesarean delivery is three nights. Your doctor will discuss this with you. Please plan ahead and arrange transportation for the day of discharge. You will need a properly-installed car seat for your baby’s safe ride home.

When you arrive for your delivery, parking is available in front of the main hospital entrance. The main entrance with the circular drive will direct you to a set of elevators that will take you to the 4th Floor, where our Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby Unit are located. Parking is free.

If you need assistance, please feel free to park in the circular driveway at the entrance of the hospital and ask for a wheelchair and transportation to the Labor & Delivery Unit.

Covenant Hospital provides a family-centered friendly approach to care. We recognize how important it is to you to share your excitement and your newborn to family and friends. Our staff is committed to helping you build memories and protecting the health and safety of all of our babies.

  • During labor, two support people may be present at a time and other visitors may wait in the Family Waiting Room.
  • At Delivery, if desired, a second support person can be present. As always, nursing will support mother’s request for no visitors if she desires.
  • During a Cesarean Delivery and immediate recovery room, one support person will be welcomed to be with mom.
  • On the Mother-Baby Unit, grandparents, siblings and other family and friends are welcome. We encourage you to limit your visitors until you are home to allow for your rest, healing and time to get to know your baby.

Visiting hours are encouraged between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. We recommend a maximum of four visitors at a time.

Rest and Rejuvenation Time: 1 - 3 p.m.

Our nursing staff is committed to providing you the rest and recovery you need in the hospital, which helps provide a healing and restful experience. Every day, we provide you and your newborn and support person quiet time to rest. Unless there is a medical need or a special visitor request from mom, visitors will be asked to wait in the family waiting room during this precious family rest time.

You can notify your nurse and a sign will be placed on your door. During your stay in Covenant Hospital, your nurse is happy to help protect you and your baby’s opportunities for rest and bonding.

A nurse is always willing to help you ask family to return at a later time to allow for you and your baby to rest. You or your support person are welcome to ask for help in clearing the room of visitors at any time, and our nurses will politely take care of that without hurting any feelings.

Yes, we encourage your support person to spend the night. We have a comfortable sofa sleeper bed in all of our private rooms.

The Level IV Neonatal ICU is on the third floor of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The neonatologist and specialized staff can come to the fourth floor for a delivery or to see a baby if necessary. If needed, the baby can spend time in the NICU for extra care.

Your safety is our top priority. We have installed the following features throughout the Maternity Center:

  • Alarmed exits
  • Badge access to units
  • Video surveillance
  • Electronic band system
  • Specialized staff name badges
  • Specialized and recognizable scrub wear for identifying safe nurses to entrust you baby
  • Parent Password System
  • Parents as Partners program

Patient meals are provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A host will come by and take your order.

  • Breakfast: 8 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Dinner: 5 - 5:30 p.m.

If you require a snack, please ask your nurse for a diet consult so a dietician can talk to you and order the proper snack between meals.

When you are admitted to the hospital, please identify any dietary needs during your stay. You may also be assigned a hospital dietitian who will design an appropriate menu to assist with your recovery.

The Garden Café

Located on the Ground floor (elevator button “G”) the café is open:

  • Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday: 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The hot line hours are:

  • Breakfast: 7 - 10 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Dinner: 5 - 7 p.m.

We have grab and go items throughout the day.

Heavenly Brew Coffee Shop

Also located on the ground floor, the coffee shop is open Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Please contact your nurse or charge nurse to address any concerns you may have. If you still feel that your concerns have not been addressed, you may contact the Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager, ext. 56275; the Mother/Baby or Antepartum Nurse Manager, ext. 56398; or the Guest Services Department, ext. 56075.

If you bring valuables, please send them home with someone or lock them in the trunk of your car. The hospital does not accept responsibility for personal items retained by patients.

Yes, it is a free service. We have WiFi available in the hospital that you can access through your personal phone or laptop. We also have internet available in the Family Resource Room on the third floor of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, which is available for you for any patient or patient family member.

For Spiritual Care Assistance, please let your nurse know, and they will be happy to contact them for you.
