Safety & Quality
Covenant Children's is committed to providing excellent patient care to every child we are honored to serve. Our goal is to provide the absolute safety possible care for all of our patients. In our constant pursuit of zero harm we have joined forces with the children's hospitals around the country to affirm the critical role patient families play in making hospital stays as safe as possible for their children. We have partnered with the Children's National Network: Solutions for Patient Safety to stay on the cutting edge of what is the safest care for children. This collaborative is comprised of 78 other children's hospitals and is focused on elimination of all harm in children's hospitals across the United States. In January 2013 Covenant Children's started our "Safety Journey" by rolling out evidenced based safety prevention practices for central line associated blood stream infections (CLABSI), catheter associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP), surgical site infection (SSI), pressure ulcer, and fall prevention. In addition we are working to build reliable practices to prevent adverse drug events, venous thromboembolism, and readmissions. We have experienced great success with the implementation of these harm prevention practices during the first year of our journey and will continue our pursuit of zero harm into 2014.
At Covenant Children's we fervently believe that patient safety is EVERYBODY'S responsibility. Every member of our staff is committed to providing the very best and safest care possible. We believe that partnering with our patients and families is essential to delivering the best and safest care. We invite you to partner with us and be involved in your child's care.
